Anxiety Man's Sure Fire Pick-up Line

It was going to be Salinger, I think more people would get that reference, but presently Pynchon is more pertinent to me and I would recommend that you should attempt to get your way through The Crying of Lot 49 in the next week, then you should quit your job and do Gravity's Rainbow. It was Pynchon that inspired the joke in the first place as my brother and I discussed his 2nd novel wondering how rational it is to be paranoid and whether it is irresponsible not to be; paranoia being a construct to validate some naive comfort. But every Pynchon conversation inevitably begs a bigger question: How many guys have got laid by claiming to be Thomas Pynchon? Not as fail safe as Salinger surely but for some men it is more feasible to plumb for Pynchon and ride those odds. Yet as we can only observe Anxiety Man's actions maybe it would be unfair to rule out the possibility that he is Thomas Pynchon

Apologies

Guys I realise I have been very slack on the A Man front recently and please accept my apologies and if you must, scowl at my excuses.

I have been pretty stressed out recently with moving and barely had time to work on it. Also silly things have got in the way like my main pen ran out, I misplaced my clicky pencil pen and I did not have a sharpener for my normal pencils; how technology ruins weakens us. I am in better shape now and I am inheriting a 'good' scanner so there shall be a comic uploaded on Sunday.

Thanks for your patience and watch this space.

Advanced Social Manouvres Volume 1; The Mutual Ignore

OK folks, so I'm having to commute to Sam's scanner at the moment so I can't guarantee a great reliability with the uploads, I am aiming to upload one every weekend at the moment. I don't mean to upset him but Sam's scanner is pretty horrible and makes everything gray, I'll try and amend this when I have a bit more organasised.

Also ruling out six panels is a painstaking pain in the arse so from now on I'm freehanding the panels one at a time.

Aww Jeez

I feel I ought to come clean about my situation. The house computer I use to scan in A man has been caught in the worldwidebrothel without a condom and is consequently very sick*. I have tried hooking the printer to my laptop but it is too sissy to handle due to its puny RAM. I am 5/8 distraught about this because the comic I was going to upload was still making me laugh after I'd inked it which is usually the point when I start throwing insults at the paper like some sloppy drunk.

Well it should be up soon and in the meantime there is a new project I have been working on called 'Micro-fictions' and there should be Reel Review before the night is through.

All the best, Ben

*and before you go hurling accusations painting me as the Marquis De Sade reincarnate allow me to instate this: I only use that computer to scan in my comics.

Soz

Dear Reader,

I am afraid there is to be no Anxiety Man this weekend as the scanner is hurt even worse than before. Hold tight, he shall be back. Until then he is in our hearts, our thoughts, our dreams, our prayers.

Dr Bob in 'The Dating Game'

Update: I feel you ought to be kept in the loop. I am now intending to update this comic every weekend and every wednesday, time will tell how fanciful this whim is. It's gonna get pretty lucid over the next 5 so it's an exciting time to be an A-man fan, (though there's the obligatory Christmas strip to ruin the continuity).

Anxiety Man in 'Duty Free'

*editor's note: In the interest of paper conservation we could not fully represent the length of this 'guwaah' which beat the previous world record by 10 minutes.

A bunch of words in 'A Scanner Downly'

There has been no update this week because the scanner is not having it. So presently the inks are there but the pixels are in the realm of the hypothetical where War and Peace is a languid assemblage of notes in Tolstoy's pocket book, Michelangelo's David is unmanipulated rock and all that other art that people flip their lids over is just a conceptual feotus in its parents mental uterus and stuff. Expect it when you least expect it, though it should be up tomorrow (which is actually today)

Anxiety Man in 'Reasons to Live'

You'd be wise to take advantage of their Christmas sale. A lot of people go a bit nuts over the festive season.
